Language Certifications
In August 2023, eCampus University introduced PEARSON PEIC CBT certification, which provides English language certification through online exams (Computer-Based Tests) and related teaching materials, recognized by both MI and MUR and accepted worldwide.
The educational offer consists in:
A PEIC CBT exam that will assess the following skills in a single session:
- Listening;
- Reading;
- Writing;
- Speaking.
All of the aforementioned exam levels can be taken online by candidates in less than two hours using a PC with a webcam equipped with a microphone and headphones — which must be of the type specified by Pearson VUE — and connected via the internet to the dedicated platform, with a remote examiner provided by Pearson VUE.
The online exam can be taken by the candidate from home, work or school, but always in compliance with the supervision and security requirements set out in the PEIC CBT regulations.
Note on flexibility: If technical difficulties or connection problems arise during the home exam, students may request to complete the exam in HYBRID mode at one of our accredited University Centres, with the assistance of our qualified Proctors, paying the presential exam fee of €50.
The exam provides quick results (ONE WEEK, MAXIMUM TWO WEEKS).
In addition to the Level 3 Skills Test available before purchasing the course, Pearson's teaching platform offers interactive products on the CBT certificate teaching platform:
MyEnglishLab: online platform with interactive consolidation exercises, review units and video activities.
Speakout Active Book - completely interactive: a digital textbook in interactive format with interactive exercises and videos available for study (valid for 12 months from start date).
Readiness Test (available only for levels A2 to C1): Online test - at the exam level chosen by the candidate - which assesses the level of preparation achieved.
Access to Test Hub (included in the platform to view the results of the Level Test and to access the Readiness Test (a one-time test to assess whether the candidate is ready for the exam)
PRACTICE TEST (New in April 2026): Included in the registration fee, it assesses the four language skills on the course syllabus. Unlike the other tests, it can be taken an unlimited number of times for 15 days, allowing for an accurate simulation of the final exam.
An exam voucher: written and oral in a single test, free of charge. If the student fails, they will have to pay a small fee to retake the exam (see attached price list, “RETAKE”). The exam can be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge up to a maximum of three times;
Offline Tutorials Exam Resources: this tool supports candidates in using training resources and preparing for the final certification session. It includes the sending of specific documentation with advice and suggestions on how to best approach the certification exam, depending on the level of preparation achieved.
