PEARSON PEIC Computer- Based Test (CBT) HYBRID

New HYBRID CBT Mode

New for 2026: Pearson English International Certificate PEIC CBT HYBRID certification - Moving towards in-person management with our Proctors for levels A1 to C2.

Starting in January 2026, candidates will be able to purchase the new CBT HYBRID model. The evolution of the CBT HYBRID model was designed to offer students a more user-friendly experience.

A simplified examination experience at our University

From April 2026, PEIC CBT HYBRID exam sessions can be taken directly in the classrooms of our Hybrid-accredited University Centres in the presence of one of our Proctors qualified for the specific CEFR level required.

Upon check-in at one of our branches, candidates will be asked to have their photograph taken (showing their entire face and neck) and to present a valid identity document.

The advantages of in-person mode:

  • Human and Linguistic Support: The roles of Proctor/Examiner will be assigned to internal university staff. Procedural instructions will be provided in Italian or English, eliminating the anxiety caused by remote surveillance in English only (PVUE system).

  • Technical Reliability: The University Centre guarantees a high-performance internet connection and certified workstations, eliminating the risks of technical instability typical of home connectivity.

Important Note: All students who choose the Hybrid CBT option must take the exam at one of the authorized centres; it is not possible to take the exam online from home and no refunds will be given. Students on the Classic CBT course still have the option of taking the exam at a Hybrid centre for an additional fee of 50€. In this case, the request must be sent at least 30 days before booking the exam.

Preparation Support Tools

To ensure optimal preparation, Pearson provides three digital tools:

  1. Level Test (Free): An adaptive test lasting approximately 20 minutes to independently assess your starting level.

  2. Readiness Test (Levels A2-C1): An adaptive tool to identify your learning gaps, complete targeted exercises and monitor your progress step by step.

  3. Practice Test (New in April 2026): Included in the registration fee, it assesses the four language skills on the course syllabus. Unlike the other tests, it can be taken an unlimited number of times for 15 days, allowing for an accurate simulation of the final exam.
