| Measurement laboratory and advanced statistics | 3 | Metrology for research and estimation of the uncertainty of the results, exercised on the construction of measurement chains and data acquisition systems. Programmation of statistic analysis softwares. |
| Scientific English 2 | 3 | Course of English language aimed at enabling the candidate's communicative abilities within the scientific fields related to the doctorate. The candidates will be required to write reports and presentations on their research activity in the English Language. |
| Ethics and professional deontology of academic research | 6 | The aim of this course is to provide knowledge on the main ethical and deontological rules of research in terms of integrity, responsibility and competence, bioethics; furthermore, the course will provide international rules on human and animal subjects research. |
| Technology transfer | 2 | Theoretical lessons and exercises on technology transfer. Basic knowledge agreements on industrial exploitation, and establishment of business spin-offs and start-ups. |
